Job summary

Magna International in Mississauga is hiring for a production role focused on progressive die operations. You will help set up equipment, operate presses, and perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet standards.

We focus on safety, documentation, and adherence to customer requirements. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with at least Grade 12 or GED and 2+ years of progressive die experience.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education or GED is required.
  • Minimum two years of experience running progressive dies.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret written reports, instructions, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with basic computer functions (Microsoft Office, CMS).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up equipment and machinery.
  • Operate presses and Progressive Die equipment.
  • Perform first-off, hourly, and last-off QA inspections and report non-conformances.
  • Document results and corrective actions.
  • Rotate and operate progressive die equipment as assigned.
  • Complete Production Traceability Reports as required.
  • Maintain safe work practices per health and safety policies.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Salary Range: $25.36 - $29.80 per hour

  • Assist in setting up equipment and machinery as required.
  • Responsible for the operation of presses.
  • Perform and document Quality Assurance first-off, hourly, and last-off inspections on all parts as per the Control Plan and advise Team Leader and/or Supervisor of non-conforming conditions.
  • Document results and correction actions as required.
  • Rotate and operate all Progressive Die equipment as assigned.
  • Complete Production Traceability Reports as per station control.
  • Responsible for producing quality parts that are in compliance with standard rates while adhering to customer requirements.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments—Duties of Workers.
  • Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.
  • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping in addressing hazards, defective equipment, wearing personal protective equipment as required, and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Follow and abide all company policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
  • Follow and abide by all government legislation and guidelines.
  • Perform all other reasonable duties as required.
Job Requirements
  • Grade 12 Education or GED
  • Minimum two (2)years’s experience in running progressive dies.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret written reports, correspondence, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to perform various computer functions (Microsoft Office, CMS).
  • Ability to follow work instructions with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of safe press and weld operations an asset.
