Job summary

Cosma International in Canada seeks a hands-on manufacturing support role within Magna’s global framework. You will update instructions and control plans on the floor, assist QE and AQM with supplier issues, and contribute to data collection, 5S initiatives, and cost-reduction efforts.

In this position, you will follow all safety rules, adhere to Magna and Cosma policies, and participate in ongoing training to maintain compliance and housekeeping in the work area.

Responsibilities

  • Update fixture instructions, control cards, control plans, visual aids, ensuring latest version is used on the floor.
  • Assist QE in creating and issuing supplier complaints – QPF.
  • Assist AQM in following up supplier issues, concerns and corrective actions.
  • Assist Quality Inspectors in data collection and presentation.
  • Participate in employee suggestion program and 5S initiatives.
  • Sustain 5S in assigned area within department.
  • Follow and abide by all government, Magna and Cosma and P&F rules and regulations.
  • Contribute to employee suggestion program, continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
  • Work safely and follow all safety rules at all times.
  • Know and understand all Magna, Federal, State and Local legislated duties.
  • Play an active role in maintaining housekeeping in the area and ensure that area of responsibility is clean, tidy and organized at all times.
  • Attend training as required or as assigned.
  • Know what to do in an emergency.
  • Know the operating instructions for all equipment and processes where you are assigned.
  • Know the pre start-up inspection process, hazards, protective measures, PPE requirements, start and stop procedures and equipment limitations.
  • Attend all physical examinations and tests including those required for respirator use and hearing protection.
  • Be knowledgeable about any chemicals that you work with or that are in your immediate environment.
  • Wear required PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, aprons, respirators and head protection.
  • Other duties as required.
