Job summary

Magna International's Cosma division in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking team members for a production role involving press operations, quality inspections and strict safety compliance.

You will set up equipment, operate presses, document quality checks, and maintain housekeeping and safe work practices in line with Occupational Health & Safety standards.

The position offers afternoon shifts, competitive hourly wages, and opportunities for development within Magna's global manufacturing network.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication and ability to interpret written correspondence, instructions, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and CMS.
  • Ability to follow work instructions as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with safe press and weld operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up equipment and machinery as required.
  • Operate presses and ensure production according to control plan.
  • Perform and document Quality Assurance inspections (first-off, hourly, last-off).
  • Document results and corrective actions as required.
  • Rotate and operate Secondary Press equipment as assigned.
  • Prepare Production Traceability Reports for station control.
  • Maintain safety standards and housekeeping; follow all policies and regulations.

Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.Job Responsibilities:SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:Excellent verbal communication skills.Ability to interpret written reports, correspondence, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.Ability to perform various computer functions (Microsoft Office, CMS).Ability to follow work instructions with minimal supervison as well as part of a team.Familiarity with and knowledge of safe press and weld operations an asset.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in setting up equipment and machinery as required.Responsible for the operation of presses.Perform and document Quality Assurance first-off, hourly, and last-off inspections on all parts as per the Control Plan and advise Team Leader and/or Supervisor of non-conforming conditions.Document results and correction actions as required.Rotate and operate all Secondary Press equipment as assigned.Complete Production Traceability Reports as per station control.Responsible for producing quality parts that are in compliance with standard rates while adhering to customer requirements.Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments—Duties of Workers.28. (1) A worker shall,(a) work in compliance with the provisions of this Act and the regulations;(b) use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker’s employer requires to be used or worn;(c) report to his or her employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself or another worker; and(d) report to his or her employer or supervisor any contravention of this Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he or she knows.(2) No worker shall,(a) remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by his or her employer, without providing an adequate temporary protective device and when the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately.(b) use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger himself, herself or any other worker; or(c) engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies.Maintain excellent housekeeping in addressing hazards, defective equipment, wearing personal protective equipment as required, and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.Follow and abide all company policies, procedures, and employee handbook.Follow and abide by all government legislation and guidelines.Perform all other reasonable duties as required.SALARY RANGE: $25.36 hourly - $29.80 hourlySHIFT : AFTERNOON SHIFT (2:00pm - 10:30pm)EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Grade 12 Education or GEDAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
