The team works with both traditional and emerging technologies to deliver innovative solutions for business applications and platforms.

Our team contributes to the success of the Day to Day Savings products in Canada, supporting Business, Regulatory, and Compliance initiatives through development, design, and deployment.

Role Overview: The Mainframe COBOL Developer, reporting to the Senior Manager Development, will lead development projects and support application solutions for the Canadian business line. Collaboration with multiple teams is essential to meet regulatory and compliance platform requirements. Ideal candidates should be proactive, creative, eager to learn, and thrive on challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Act as an expert technical resource for problem analysis and solution implementation.
• Support applications, evaluate problems, and implement solutions in accordance with architectural guidelines.
• Promote a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships.
• Interact with business clients and internal teams to resolve system issues.
• Provide analysis and coding support for host applications and infrastructure.
• Mentor junior developers and support the implementation of new systems or enhancements.
• Participate in pager rotation for 24x7 application support.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe development using COBOL, Assembler, JCL, IMS DB/DC, DB2, VSAM, CICS, CA7, SAS, SDSF.
• Experience with utilities and productivity tools like MVS/TSO, UCANDU, ACR, and others.
• Knowledge of SDLC, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of file transfer protocols, web services, APIs, and cloud technologies (Azure).
• Prior experience in production support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
