Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Program Assistant (Office Admin) to support the Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use team. You will handle referrals, greet visitors, schedule appointments, and maintain client charts to ensure smooth operations.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will perform clerical duties, process travel claims, compile statistics, take meeting minutes, and contribute to program improvement while upholding client-centered care.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with an approved Medical Office Assistant program and 1 year of related mental health/substance use experience.
• Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of program policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in relevant software.
• Ability to keyboard 50 wpm.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Process referral requests and act as receptionist.
• Arrange appointments and maintain client charts.
• Process staff mileage expenses and travel claims.
• Compile statistical information and prepare program information packages.
• Attend meetings and take minutes; perform clerical duties.
• Engage in team planning and program improvement.
