Job summary

Umbrella Family is seeking a RECE Program Leader to oversee Before/After School programs at Balaclava Centre. You will develop safe, developmentally appropriate activities and manage sign-in/out, snacks, and family communications.

Lead site operations and contribute to enrollment, subsidies, and reporting. The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and collaboration with families, staff, and community partners while ensuring a positive, inclusive program environment.

Qualifications

• ECE diploma and active registration with the College of ECEs
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered ECE
• Proven leadership and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of child development and guidance
• Experience planning programs for JK/SK and school-age children
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organization
• Flexible to adapt to varied duties and schedules
• Commitment to a positive, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Welcome children and families; maintain sign-in/out records
• Support emotional, social, and behavioural needs of children
• Prepare and offer healthy snacks
• Engage children in meaningful indoor/outdoor activities
• Set up play invitations with developmentally appropriate materials
• Safely transition JK/SK groups between classrooms
• Facilitate outdoor play and manage equipment
• Communicate professionally with families and staff
• Complete administrative tasks: attendance, enrollment, subsidies, time sheets, groceries
• Support other staff as needed throughout the day
