Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in your community and the world.

Organization: Proudly supporting a charitable organization with a national scope that fosters racial harmony and cross-cultural understanding to help eliminate racism in Canada. Their mandate is to facilitate the development, sharing, and application of knowledge and expertise to eliminate racism and racial discrimination in Canadian society.

With a core value supporting diversity and a strong commitment to inclusion and cross-cultural sensitivity, we encourage qualified applications from Indigenous peoples, racialized communities, people with disabilities, gender and sexually diverse communities, and those with intersectional identities.

Role: Program Coordinator

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Nunavut; conducting targeted outreach; monitoring grants and sponsorships; and managing all programs and initiatives in the region (some travel required). The role involves broad responsibilities and daily interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including:

  • Designing and implementing outreach strategies, establishing contacts, and engaging with community groups focused on anti-racism and anti-hate.
  • Monitoring grants and sponsorships, ensuring compliance, negotiating amendments, liaising with grantees, and overseeing timely report submissions.
  • Organizing roundtables, conferences, engaging speakers, and promoting programs, workshops, and collaborations regionally and nationally.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to anti-racism and diversity, and have a degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in social sciences, public policy, or related fields, with training in race relations, anti-racism, grant administration, and community engagement. A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.

Remuneration:

This is a permanent full-time, unionized position working in a hybrid model from home. Candidates can be based in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, or Winnipeg, with some travel for conferences and events. Compensation includes a salary of $73,000 – $76,000, 3 weeks vacation, paid personal and sick days, RRSP matching, and medical benefits.
