Job summary

Music Yukon is seeking an energetic and organized part-time Program & Administrative Coordinator to join our team and help build the Yukon's thriving music industry.   • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with basic marketing and social media competency.
  • Familiarity with the Yukon music and arts communities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative tasks and records management.
  • Process invoices, bill payments, and contract administration.
  • Support grant writing and reporting; research funding opportunities.
  • Assist with program planning, delivery, and member engagement.

OVERVIEW

Music Yukon is seeking an energetic and organized Program & Administrative Coordinator to join our team and help build the Yukon's thriving music industry. This part-time position will work alongside our Executive Director to deliver professional development programs, support artists and music entrepreneurs, coordinate networking and live performance events, strengthen our operations, and contribute to the growth of the organization. Music Yukon is a member based not-for-profit society dedicated to supporting, developing, and amplifying the Yukon music sector to find success and recognition at home and beyond. ABOUT THIS POSITION

This position will report to and collaborate with the Executive Director, supporting the day-to-day operations of the organization, annual and special project programming, and the development of the long term growth and sustainability of the organization.

Administration & Development
  • Office administration and records management;
  • Processing invoices and bill payments;
  • Contract administration;
  • Equipment inventory and rental coordination;
  • Assist with grant writing and reporting;
  • Research funding opportunities;
  • Help improve organizational systems and processes; and
  • Support sponsorship and fundraising initiatives.
Programs
  • Coordinate professional development workshops and events;
  • Assist with program planning and delivery;
  • Support member engagement initiatives; and
  • Occasional travel for industry conferences and showcase opportunities.
Communications
  • Website updates;
  • Assist with newsletter and socials media; and
  • Prepare promotional materials and member communications.

A small team requires responsiveness and flexibility throughout the year. While this posting outlines our anticipated responsibilities, Music Yukon is prepared to shape this role around the strengths, experience, and interests of the successful candidate. The hours of this position will be flexible to the availability of the successful candidate, reflecting our understanding of the realities of working musicians, artists, and contract-based arts workers. We are committed to keeping this position sustainable and will hold quarterly check-ins to review workload, responsibilities, and organizational priorities. We recognize that every new responsibility should come with a conversation about capacity.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Experience coordinating arts, cultural, non-profit, or community programs or events, with experience in live event production and grant writing a strong asset;
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines independently;
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace, with experience in Wordpress, Mailchimp, and Canva an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;
  • Experience with basic marketing and social media competency; and
  • Familiarity with the Yukon music and arts communities.

In your first six months, you will:
  • Help deliver Music Yukon's annual programming, including training, local events, and export initiatives;
  • Attend Breakout West, Western Canada's premier music industry conference, to take in panels and workshops, meet our regional partners, and support Yukon artists;
  • Build relationships with members and partners; and
  • Identify opportunities to build new professional development programs and improve organizational processes.
TERM & COMPENSATION

The deadline for applications for this position is August 23, 2026 with work starting as early as September 8th. The contract term is one-year with an opportunity to renew should funding allow.

  • An average of 18 hours a week at $35.00CAD an hour
  • Greater flexibility around slower periods
