Job summary

Government of Yukon’s Community Services branch seeks an Indigenous Training Program Coordinator to lead and coordinate the Indigenous Training Program, supporting Yukon First Nations employees to build skills and career pathways within the department and Yukon Government.

You will mentor staff, work with managers to create meaningful training opportunities, and foster culturally safe practices while strengthening relationships with Yukon First Nations and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience guiding and supporting adults in professional or learning settings.
  • Experience coordinating or supporting training, education or community programs.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse partners and communities.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or Indigenous-focused programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the Indigenous Training Program (ITP) within Community Services.
  • Mentor Indigenous employees, and collaborate with managers to create training opportunities.

Community Services is looking for a collaborative, team-oriented individual who thrives on building relationships and supporting others.As the Indigenous Training Program Coordinator,you will lead and coordinate the Indigenous Training Program (ITP), supporting Indigenousemployeesas they build skills, gain meaningful work experience and explore career pathways within Community Servicesand the Yukon Government.You will mentor and guide employees throughout their journey, work with managers to create meaningful training and employment opportunities, and build strong, trust-based relationships with Yukon First Nations and community partners.You will also help shape and strengthen the ITP by incorporating Indigenous perspectives, supporting culturally safe practices,identifyingand addressing barriers to participation, and evaluating andgrowingthe program over time.
