ACADEMIC OPERATIONS

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Academic Program Administrator serves as a key program contact for recruitment, student support, academic pathways, and program operations. This role works closely with students, faculty, internal service areas, and external stakeholders to support student success, monitor academic progression, and facilitate enrolment, transfer credit pathways, and program completion. The position requires advanced knowledge of program architecture, regulatory standards, admission processes, and college systems, along with strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills. This is a term role with an end date of March 31, 2027.

How You’ll Make a Difference
  • Triage student issues and provide support, guidance, and referrals before matters are escalated to program leadership.
  • Lead tracking of students throughout their program, from enrolment through provincial exam completion and graduation.
  • Liaise with the Office of the Registrar and other college service areas to coordinate enrolment requirements, course scheduling, and student supports.
  • Create, run, and analyze reports to monitor student progression and proactively identify opportunities to support student success.
  • Lead changes to student enrolment pathways and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support program operations.
  • Maintain relationships with workplace employers, transfer credit partners, and external stakeholders to support student pathways and program success.
  • Work collaboratively with academic advisors, faculty, and support teams to advise students on academic goals, transfer pathways, and available supports.
  • Lead and support projects related to learner pathways, transfer credit agreements, recruitment activities, student orientation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate program information, policy updates, and process changes to students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Act as an ambassador for the College and support recruitment activities, employer engagement, and student success initiatives for the Health Care Aide Workplace program.
What You Bring
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s (Undergraduate) Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 3 or more years of related student support experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Proficiency in program architecture, curriculum, course sequencing, pathways, and Health Care Aide regulatory standards and policies.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems, including PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office.
  • Proven experience in process improvement, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism, including the needs of Indigenous, international, and immigrant learners.

SALARY

AUPE Band Level 7 | Advisor I | $2,271 - $2,950 bi-weekly reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full time, term position (ending March 31, 2027) with the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE).
