Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Industrial Engineering) at the Marcel-Laurin Plant in St-Laurent, QC. The role focuses on continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cross-functional project leadership within aerospace production environments.

You will coordinate initiatives, lead workshops, resolve manufacturing issues, and drive efficiency through data-driven analysis and stakeholder collaboration. Fluency in French and English is required.

Qualifications

  • College diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, operations management, or related disciplines.
  • 1–3 years of experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and ability to apply and teach them to teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage priorities and adapt to setbacks.
  • Awareness of trends in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Plan and conduct multi-disciplinary workshops, engage stakeholders, and ensure deliverables.
  • Support operations in resolving manufacturing issues.
  • Lead problem-solving activities in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Write project mandates and obtain approvals from stakeholders.
  • Act as change agent with stakeholders to lead execution.
  • Prepare and present progress reports at governance meetings.
  • Identify upstream risks and deploy new ideas to improve efficiency.
  • Propose balancing and optimization scenarios for assembly lines.
  • Map and update team processes.

How to thrive in this role?
  • You have a college diploma (DEC) or a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, operations management, or other related disciplines
  • You have between 1 and 3 years of experience
  • You have in-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing philosophy and principles and are able to apply, explain, and share them with a work team
  • You have strong analytical skills and enjoy solving complex problems
  • You demonstrate an ability to manage priorities and overcome setbacks
  • You stay up to date with new trends in the field of continuous improvement
  • You have project management and team leadership skills
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
  • You have experience in manufacturing environments
  • You are autonomous and have good practical sense
  • You are interested in change management
  • You are bilingual (French and English)
