Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Technologist at the Marcel-Laurin Plant (Aerospace Canada). You will guide manufacturing methods for complex assemblies, lead continuous improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges.

The role requires a college diploma in aeronautics, 5 years of methods experience, and strong technical drawing literacy, with French and English proficiency. SAP and Catia V5 knowledge are assets.

Qualifications

• Have a college diploma in aeronautics or related field.
• Five years of experience as a methods agent or related.
• Experience supporting production operations.
• Able to read technical drawings; 3D visualization; analytical mind.
• Knowledge of aircraft manufacturing and assembly techniques.
• Leadership and customer satisfaction focus.
• Team player; organized, autonomous, resourceful and perseverant.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; SAP; Catia V5 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support production challenges related to composite parts or metal bonding and react to issues from multiple departments.
• Participate in problem investigations and resolutions; implement corrective actions to prevent line shutdowns.
• Contribute to development and integration of new parts with technical leadership for projects.
• Review/create assembly notebooks and write/display action files; prepare change requests as needed.
• Ensure a responsible owner and action plan that respects project schedules; update visual management tables.
• Investigate problems related to methods and engineering documentation and implement corrective measures.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Support the various production challenges and other services related to composite parts or metal bonding on a daily basis. You and your team will have to react to situations coming from various departments that could cause production line shutdowns.
• Participate in problem investigations and resolutions, as well as integrating opportunities for product improvement. You will be proactive in implementing corrective measures that will prevent future line shutdowns.
• Participate in the development and integration of new parts by providing technical expertise
• and leadership for the full duration of the project.
• Review and/or create assembly notebooks, write and display action files as needed. You will also have to write change requests when required.
• Ensure that there is a person in charge and an action plan that respects the schedule for all problems identified; update the visual management table.
• Investigate problems related to methods and engineering documentation and initiate appropriate corrective measures.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a college diploma in aeronautics or any other related or equivalent field.
• You have five (5) years of experience as a methods agent or other related experience
• You have relevant experience supporting production operations.
• You are comfortable reading technical drawings and have good 3D visualization and a good analytical mind
• You have a good knowledge of aircraft manufacturing and assembly techniques.
• You have leadership and you support the importance of customer satisfaction.
• You are a team player, organized, autonomous, resourceful, imaginative and you are perseverant.
• You enjoy working in a team and have excellent communication skills.
• You are competent with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP software and knowledge of Catia V5 is an asset.
• You speak and write in French and English.
