Job summary

Saputo Inc. in Port Coquitlam, BC, is hiring a Production Worker to join our dairy manufacturing team. You will operate production equipment, follow food safety procedures, and support daily shift operations in a clean, safe environment.

This 36-hour work week features 9-hour shifts, on-call rotations, and numerous employee benefits. Experience is welcome but not required; physical fitness and teamwork are essential to thrive in a 24/7 facility.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Able to operate pallets jack and forklifts.
• Basic safety and teamwork mindset is essential.
• Experience in production/warehousing is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment following food safety procedures.
• Perform manual lifting and pallet handling up to 50 lbs.
• Contribute to setup, sanitation and break-down of equipment.
• Work with on-call shifts in a 24/7 dairy production facility.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.

As a Production Worker, you will be working in on the Production floor completing various tasks related to successful dairy production. This position offers up to 36 hours per week. Our facility operates 24/7; on-call shift work is required. Full time opportunities will be posted and awarded by seniority as they become available.

Schedule:

This position offers up to four (4) 9-hour shifts per week for a 36-hour work week. We operate 24/7 and you will work various on-call shifts that may lead to full-time, permanent opportunities. We post and award our full-time positions by seniority.

Salary:

Starting $31.70 per hour

How you will make contributions that matter:

• Participate and learn through in-house on the job training
• Operation of production equipment, following all food safety procedures
• Perform manual lifting, stacking, and pulling (up to approx. 50lbs)
• Perform various tasks using an electric pallet jack
• Participate in the setup, takedown and sanitation of all parts and equipment when required
• Working with, and near sanitizing chemicals (i.e. high concentrations of acids and alkalis)
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Operate production equipment used in the dairy manufacturing process

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

• Are physically able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive movements
• Can lift up to 50LBS on a regular basis and perform physically demanding tasks
• Operate electric power jack, counterbalance & high reach forklifts
• Experience is preferred, but not required
• Can work in a temperate and / or refrigerated environment of 2C
• Already have experience in production / warehousing (asset but not required)
• Learn quick and you are responsible for your own work
• Like working as a team and communicate well with your colleagues
