Job summary

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking an Operator, Production, to join our team in Canada. You will assist in manufacturing and bulk finishing/packaging of cheese in a clean, safe environment, reporting to the Supervisor, Production.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated, results oriented with initiative and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to work various shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Proficient in using computer software and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all production equipment according to SOPs to ensure high-quality products.
  • Receive raw materials including milk, UF milk, cream, secondary culture, and whey.
  • Record data and inventory entries with high accuracy.
  • Understand the disassembly & assembly of cheese production equipment.
  • Assist in the manufacturing and cleaning processes as required.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and comply with Health and Safety policies.
  • Participate in HACCP program and adhere to GMPs.
  • Ensure efficient and effective use of equipment and materials.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Overview of the Role

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking an Operator, Production, for two existing opportunities within our organization. You'll discover a stimulating atmosphere that fosters your professional growth in a clean and safe environment. Reporting to the Supervisor, Production, the Operator, Production is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing and bulk format finishing/packaging of cheese in accordance with the standards and safety objectives established by Senior Management of the company.

Status

Permanent/Full-time

Schedule
  • Shift A - Sun-Tues 6am-6pm 2 x weeks, Sun-Tues + Sat 6am-6pm 2 x weeks
  • Shift C - Wed-Fri + Sat 6am-6pm 2 x weeks, Wed-Fri 6am-6pm 2 x weeks
  • Shift B - Sun-Tues 6pm-6am
  • Shift D - Wed-Fri 6pm-6am
Salary

$27.25/hour

There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $30.25/hour.

How you will make contributions that matter
  • Operate all production equipment as per standard operating procedures to ensure the highest quality product possible
  • Responsible for receiving raw materials such as incoming milk, UF Milk, cream, secondary culture, and whey
  • Record all required data and inventory entries with a high level of accuracy
  • Understand the disassembly & assembly of cheese production equipment
  • Assist in the manufacturing process and cleaning process as required
  • Ensure that safe conditions exist always within the work environment; will take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees and comply with all requirements as stated in the Health and Safety policy
  • Full participation in the HACCP program and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Ensure the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resource
  • Must demonstrate teamwork, co-operation, responsibility, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented and possess high degree of initiative, and work well with minimal supervision
  • Must be available to work various shifts, weekends, and work overtime as required
