Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, College Diploma (DEC), or Vocational Diploma in Industrial Management, Production, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is an asset.

The Production Supervisor plays a key role in achieving the health and safety, quality, performance, and continuous improvement objectives of the Techniseal plant in Candiac. This individual is responsible for the daily supervision of production operations, management of employees under their direction, and optimization of processes to ensure a safe, efficient, and results-driven work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coordinate, and support production teams.
  • Implement and enforce Health and Safety (H&S) policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a member of the Health and Safety Committee; conduct monthly and annual inspections, follow up on accidents and incidents, perform workplace observations, and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and quality control of raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules and deadlines.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop employees through training, mentoring, and positive discipline practices.
  • Participate in the onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of production employees, including maintaining an up-to-date training matrix.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, productivity, scrap, downtime, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify performance gaps, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with all departments, including Maintenance, Quality, R&D, and Logistics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare production reports and ensure effective communication between teams and management.
  • Actively foster a positive, engaging, and collaborative work environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, College Diploma (DEC), or Vocational Diploma in Industrial Management, Production, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a continuous production environment is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, team management, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions, manage priorities, and solve problems effectively.
  • Good knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is an asset.
