Job summary

Oldcastle APG, part of CRH, is seeking a BATCHER at our Candiac facility. You will prepare product blends, manage materials, and ensure quality and safety in a 40-hour week (Mon-Thu mornings, Fri morning). The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Eligible candidates hold an AEC in Chemical Processes, 3–5 years in manufacturing, and forklift certification is an asset. CRH offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare product blends according to established recipes.
  • Ensure all raw materials are available before starting production.
  • Verify quality of raw materials by checking expiration dates and inspecting visually.
  • Gather raw materials required for blends.
  • Weigh exact quantities of materials accurately.
  • Deliver samples to the laboratory for analysis and approval.
  • Adjust blends based on laboratory feedback.
  • Store products properly and clean workstations to prevent contamination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

POSITION: BATCHER

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the following duties:

  • Prepare various product blends according to established recipes;
  • Ensure all raw materials are available before starting production;
  • Verify the quality of raw materials by checking expiration dates and conducting visual and odor inspections;
  • Gather the raw materials required for the various blends;
  • Accurately and carefully weigh the exact quantities of raw materials required;
  • Deliver samples to the laboratory for analysis and approval;
  • Adjust blends according to laboratory feedback and recommendations;
  • Store all products properly after use and clean workstations to prevent any risk of contamination;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
  • AEC in Chemical Processes or a related educational program; (A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered equivalent.)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment;
  • Forklift operator certification (an asset).
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Energetic, proactive, and team-oriented;
  • High level of accuracy and precision;
  • Resourceful and able to work independently;
  • Ability to perform physical and manual work, including lifting up to approximately 50 lbs.
Working Conditions
  • Permanent full-time position, 40 hours per week;
  • Monday to Thursday: 6:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
