Default Brand in Canada is seeking a manufacturing supervisor responsible for the health and safety of the workforce, and for meeting shift production metrics. The role requires guiding teams, conducting audits, and maintaining strict compliance with safety standards.

You will lead shift staffing, track training, and drive continuous improvement across processes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work rotating shifts in a continuous production

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of direct supervision experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts in a continuous production setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Education of high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the health and safety of employees and ensure compliance with all established Health & Safety rules/regulations and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Accountable for manufacturing metrics for their shift.
  • Conduct required audits as necessary – SOP, safety, 5S, Process etc.
  • Conduct regular employee communication meetings on shift.
  • Track training for all hourly employees on shift
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process and quality system.
  • Ensure production flow of processes by reducing/eliminating bottlenecks on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Employee Scheduling: Ensure shift is properly staffed by qualified employees.
  • Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

EssentialFunctions:

  • Accountable for manufacturing metrics for their shift.
  • Conduct required audits as necessary – SOP, safety, 5S, Process etc.
  • Conduct regular employee communication meetings on shift.

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product,processand quality system.Identifyand record any problems relating to the product,processand quality system. Initiate,recommend,or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions. Control further processing,deliveryor installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Ensure production flow of processes by reducing/eliminatingbottlenecks on ashift-by-shiftbasis.
  • Employee Scheduling:
  • Ensure shift is properly staffed by qualified employees. Work with Gate House Attendantregardinganyabsent employees and open positions on shift.
  • Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
  • Other duties as assigned bymanager.
