Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and services at lowest cost without compromising quality.
  • Implement and maintain effective controls for areas of responsibility.
  • Provide long-term production and inventory plans to optimize capacity and assets.
  • Establish and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction/avoidance opportunities.
  • Manage raw packaging materials flow and material flow processes.
  • Manage departmental expenses to meet budget and develop cost reduction projects.
  • Establish and maintain 5S system and plant housekeeping.
  • Adhere to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Description

  • Take a leadership role in promoting product quality, employee development, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Supervise the materials production area, scheduling, logistics / customer service and inventory control functions, ensuring that materials and services are procured in a timely manner at the lowest possible prices without impacting quality, performance, or customer service.
  • Implement and maintain effective controls for all areas of responsibility.
  • Provides long-term production and inventory plans that ensure optimal utilization of capacity and assets.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal and external customer relationships
  • Identify and implement cost reduction/ avoidance opportunities.
  • Manage the flow of raw packaging materials and supplies coming into the facility and the processes and systems to efficiently manage the material flow.
  • Manage departmental expenses to meet budget. Work with department employee to create cost reduction projects.
  • Establish and maintain 5S system. Work with supervisors and hourly employees to ensure plant housekeeping meets or exceeds standards.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
