Job summary

Newrest in Canada is hiring a Production Manager to lead daily production activities, ensuring compliant, high-quality meals across preparation, assembly and packaging lines. You will manage staff, schedules, and safety protocols while coordinating with procurement to maintain a steady supply chain.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, and experience in airline catering or related food production sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold HACCP, hygiene standards and PPE rules.
  • Monitor temperatures and maintain raw material traceability.
  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse for supply continuity.
  • Lead, train and supervise production staff.
  • Manage rosters, breaks and time tracking.
  • Onboard new employees and evaluate performance.

Your Main Missions Will Be
Production Management & Performance
  • Plan and organize daily production team activities based on workload and order schedules.
  • Ensure smooth workflow across preparation, assembly, and packaging lines.
  • Guarantee adherence to technical sheets, recipes, portion control, and product presentation.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): productivity, waste reduction, preparation timelines, and compliance rates.
  • Strictly enforce food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) as well as internal company procedures.
  • Monitor temperatures (receiving, cooking, cooling, storage) and maintain full traceability of raw materials and finished products.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in internal quality audits and implement required corrective actions.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise production staff (cooks, kitchen helpers, assembly line workers).
  • Manage rosters, task assignments, break schedules, and time tracking.
  • Onboard, train, and integrate new employees regarding operational methods and safety rules.
  • Evaluate individual and team performance and identify training needs.
  • Oversee optimal raw material utilization to minimize waste and losses.
  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure a continuous supply chain for production lines.
