Job summary

CPM Acquisition Corp. in Ontario is seeking a plant operations leader to guide the segment manufacturing team, manage work release within the segment cell, and ensure a smooth flow of production while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of blueprint design, materials management, customer order and procurement procedures, and company policies and procedures
• Analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing process and routing
• Ability to communicate, work independently, be innovative, work under stress and to work with critical deadlines and pressures
• Exercise considerable initiative/judgement in work methods and in interpreting and delegating work requirements/goals
• Work independently, reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision
• Ability to lead by example, gain respect from the team and communicate with clarity while demonstrating excellence in approach to work and people activities

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of manufacturing.
• Drives lean manufacturing.
• Manages operations resources throughout manufacturing for all shifts.
• Ensures all quality and safety standards are being maintained at all times.
• Develops and maintains defined manufacturing procedures.
• Ensure that the department adheres to 5S practices, at all times.
• Monitors and maintains all safety protocols and ensures team is working safely.
• Works with the maintenance team to ensure equipment maintained and minimizes downtime
• Ensure the smooth introduction of new products and processes.
• Understands Bills of Material for this specific product line, and how they relate to the production orders. This will help to ensure the items are routed appropriately.
• Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Provide product expertise within the team and respond to operator queries.
• Drives continuous improvement in partnership with team
• Partners with HR to ensure staffing is properly maintained
• Drives cost save initiatives for facility

Job description

SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the purpose of this job is to provide leadership and support to the segment manufacturing team. This includes but is not limited to managing the personnel working in the segment cell, managing the release of work within the segment cell, and facilitating a smooth flow of work through manufacturing. You will be responsible for all activities and output for your area, you will ensure compliance with quality standards and that all operations are maintained and performed safely within a continuous improvement culture. That will involve updating and maintaining all metrics daily to maximize efficiency and team performance, ensuring manpower is used effectively. You will report on the following metrics: scrap, production output, on time delivery, past due orders, and shipments.
