Job summary

Activar, Inc. is seeking a production operator to operate machines, review daily manufacturing functions, and ensure materials are available to meet run rates. You will maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow company guidelines.

  • Understanding of all tools, gauges, equipment, and instruments used.
  • Basic ability to read blueprints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Arithmetic functions involving decimals, percentages, fractions and ratios.

  • Ensure the safe operation of equipment.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager any and all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, and/or quality.
  • Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong team work.
  • Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.
  • Basic ability to understand blue prints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
  • Two plus years of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.
  • Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.

The employee may be required to work with hazardous materials. The employee may be exposed to hot surfaces, hot air, electrical hazards, and flames. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works with moving machinery and occasionally in outside weather.
