Working within a multidisciplinary team including purchasing, production and logistics, the Production Planner is responsible for optimizing the production schedule to ensure the efficiency of manufacturing operations. To this end, he/she plans, creates and manages the production schedule in order to maximize production efficiency and maintain a high level of customer service. Key responsibilities include reviewing production requirements, creation of production order to meet the master schedule, managing shortage parts, adapting to changes in demand and balancing production efficiency with maintaining production deadlines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish manufacturing priorities related to the requirements of the ERP, the release of production orders and distribution of documentation to the operation team
  • Act as a liaison between the manufacturing and operations teams to meet deadlines and targets
  • Update the shortage report and confirm delivery dates of parts
  • Identify material requirement needed for the production and coordinate with the Purchasing /operation team
  • Implement changes from R&D and Drafting team to the Production orders depending on the advancement status
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of planning parameters in the ERP system by performing analysis of parts and components required to fulfill orders
  • Participate in the definition of optimal safety stock levels for fabricated parts
  • Participate in meetings related to production, procurement, engineering changes and product launches
  • Attend and actively participate in planning meetings, understand drivers, challenge assumptions and bring the team to agreement on demand and supply plans
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Bilingual (English/French) written and spoken
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes is essential
  • Knowledge of Business Central Dynamics is an asset.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Supply chain or industrial engineering discipline preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Rapid Response Manufacturing.
