Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction.
  • Forklift operating experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production line and machinery per standard work instructions.
  • Feed raw materials through the manufacturing process.
  • Resolve line stoppages and clear jams.
  • Verify finished products against quality specifications.
  • Record production numbers and downtime data in PRODAC and handwritten reports.
  • Adhere to safety policies and rotate shifts.

Job description

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the role will be responsible for running the production line for the IKO Industries Ltd. production facility. This includes operating machinery, ensuring that raw materials are fed properly through the manufacturing process, resolving line stoppages, clearing equipment jams, verifying finished products against quality specifications, and ensuring that products are properly prepared for shipment.LocationIKO Industries Ltd. - 71 Orenda Road Brampton, OntarioWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL BE;

  • Adhering to safety policies, programs, procedures
  • Inspecting raw material and finish products per quality specifications
  • Conducting quality checks at regular intervals
  • Operating manufacturing equipment in accordance with standard work instructions
  • Operating counterbalance, propane-powered forklift
  • Entering waste, downtime data into system
  • Document production numbers, items contributing to down-time (using computerized system called PRODAC, as well as hand-written production reports)
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Required to work rotational shifts.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction industry preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of proven forklift operating experience preferred
  • Comfortable with standing for extended periods of time
  • Manual Dexterity and Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow direction and specific instructions
  • Good communication skills; Fluent in English - Reading, Writing and Speaking
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
  • Must be able to walk and/or stand 90% of the shift
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
