Job summary

Technosub Group is seeking a VP Operations to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for all manufacturing activities, including planning, machining, repair, assembly and testing. The role emphasizes safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement in a unionized setting.

Informations

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Production Director provides leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team of supervisors and technical support professionals to drive the optimization of all manufacturing activities. This includes production planning, estimating, machining, repair, assembly, testing, finishing, equipment preparation, and the critical support functions required to ensure efficient plant operations. The successful candidate is accountable for continuously improving operational performance while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, quality, and productivity.

RESPONSABILITIES
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture;
  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate production-related activities;
  • Develop policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to ensure optimal department functioning;
  • Establish annual objectives and prepare the department’s budget;
  • Set performance targets and quality standards (quality assurance and quality control);
  • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data, and take corrective actions as required;
  • Coach, lead, and supervise employees under their responsibility;
  • Ensure compliance with the collective agreement;
  • Perform any other related duties within the scope of the department’s activities.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Hold a university or college degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • Possess a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities, including more than five (5) years in a Director-level position. Experience working in a unionized environment for at least five (5) years is required;
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and competencies will be considered.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Fluency in French, both spoken and written;
  • Intermediate level of English proficiency, both spoken and written, to communicate (approximately 20% of the time) with suppliers outside Quebec, as well as with our Canadian and U.S. subsidiaries;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is considered an asset;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
