IPS – ABBA Roller is seeking a Production Manager who is responsible for overall production and supervision of value stream (departments) at the ABBA facility. This position will work closely with operations leadership, quality, supply chain and engineering to ensure alignment to ABBA Roller directives and initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role that will directly contribute to the growth of our business through positive trending of customer related metrics. Critical metrics for this role are as follows : Safety, Quality, Productivity, On-Time-Delivery, Cost-out and EBITDA.

This position works in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment, utilizes knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to deliver world class results in efficiency, quality and productivity.

Job Accountabilities :

  • Directs operations in alignment with corporate strategic and business plans and goals.
  • Manages, develops and leads talent within the organization.
  • Utilizes continuous improvement (lean) across all areas to improve cost, quality and efficiency ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Provides a safe work environment through focus on 6S, risk reduction and data driven decision making.
  • Schedules customer orders to the department daily to ensure that OTD and quality requirements are achieved.
  • Supports all capital projects related to the area of responsibility.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies including OSHA and AQMD. Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal licenses and permits in extrusion.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operates in a safe manner.
  • Directs the production and inventory control functions to ensure that the customers’ needs are met in a timely manner while utilizing the capacity of the operation in an efficient manner
  • Assists in developing and implementing level-loaded production schedules to support capacity planning and optimize staffing needs.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate production staff to ensure performance and development goals are achieved.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and streamline operations.
  • Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on production volumes, labor, downtime, and other KPI’s.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications :

Education : Associates degree or higher preferred; High School education or GED required

Years Experience :

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a low volume / high mix manufacturing environment. 5+ years working in a polymer manufacturing environment preferred

Skills :

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of production scheduling
  • Ability to stand long periods of time
  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Strong knowledge of MRP / ERP systems, Epicor or similar system preferred
  • Understanding of safety and EHS procedures
  • Associate’s’ degree in Engineering or Business Administration (desired)
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certified (desired)

Training Requirements :

  • On the job training will be conducted on Procedures and Work Instructions from the area of responsibility.
  • Yearly refresher training on FOD, Documentation control and Safety Topics.
