Job Description

We are seeking a Production Manager to join our team at our plant in Ashcroft, BC. This plant processes, colors, and ships granules used for roofing shingles. The ideal candidate is an experienced, results-oriented, hands-on leader with the potential to grow within our organization. You will drive synergy between technological advancements and workplace performance. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will coach, educate, and motivate production supervisors and coordinate manufacturing activities to meet operational goals in safety, environmental impact, quality, cost, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach production supervisors and employees to meet safety, environmental, quality, cost, and service goals.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control Coordinator to ensure finished products meet customer requirements through continuous improvement and quality management systems.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Support the overall reliability strategy, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Foster a highly engaged workforce, partnering with HR on performance management, staffing, and employee development.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles such as Kaizen.
  • Ensure effective employee training in quality, safety, and processes.
  • Mentor direct reports and build a capable, accountable team.
  • Maintain plant housekeeping standards and implement a 5S program.

Ideal Candidate

  • Four-year technical degree
  • 5-10 years supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience with continuous improvement and Lean initiatives
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Track record of operational improvements through employee engagement
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team-building and problem-solving abilities
  • Results-oriented, able to work independently and in teams
