Qualifications

  • Mindestens 8 Jahre Erfahrung in der industriellen Produktionsleitung.
  • Erfahrung in einem gewerkschaftlich organisierten Umfeld von Vorteil.

Job Description

We are seeking a Production Manager to join our team in Calgary. The ideal candidate is an experienced, results-oriented, hands-on leader with the potential to advance within our organization. The role involves driving synergy between technological advancements and workplace performance.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will be responsible for coaching, educating, and motivating production supervisors, and coordinating manufacturing activities for the production line. The key metrics include safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, and productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Improve productivity and quality of production processes
  • Lead the Production department, fostering process and system improvements
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting (compliance, checklists, work orders, etc.)
  • Manage production budgets effectively
  • Coordinate with Maintenance on downtime and shutdown planning
  • Maintain safety and environmental compliance, understanding all regulations
  • Enhance housekeeping for a safe working environment, focusing on dust control and equipment reliability
  • Increase employee engagement and labor relations through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive accountability through education, motivation, and coaching
  • Collaborate with HR on personnel matters
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and work with maintenance to increase technical knowledge
  • Implement a cost-effective preventative maintenance program
  • Develop department goals aligned with company values
Ideal Candidate
  • 8+ years of progressive industrial production leadership experience (crushing, screening, or mining experience is an asset)
  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent experience and education
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and the US
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Proactive with a proven record of strategic project execution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and process safety management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills
  • Experience in a unionized environment and driving safety culture
