Summary

The Production Manager is a motivating leader responsible for ensuring production processes operate safely, efficiently, and effectively. The role involves continuous process improvements to achieve quality production that meets customer needs. The manager will coordinate a team of supervisors and personnel, resolving scheduling issues to minimize interruptions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage production supervisors’ shift schedules, arrange relief during absences, and adjust production to minimize downtime.
• Organize production activities, coordinate work of plant personnel, and ensure internal and external customer needs are met in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner.
• Track key performance indicators such as safety, efficiency, waste, downtime, labor costs, and accidents, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
• Ensure GMP compliance and safety standards through training and communication initiatives.
• Investigate safety concerns to maintain a safe work environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment for proper maintenance and safety.
• Ensure compliance with government, customer, and third-party audits, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Build a strong team through clear communication, performance monitoring, coaching, training, and policy enforcement.
• Develop and implement sanitation procedures in collaboration with supervisors.
• Continuously seek operational improvements to maximize profit and minimize costs.
• Lead EHS and sanitation programs.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Knowledge of automated manufacturing and packaging technology is an asset.
• Familiarity with GMP and industry standards is an asset.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Decisive leadership with interpersonal skills, capable of motivating teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.
