Job Description

We are seeking a Production Manager to join our team in Calgary. The successful candidate is an experienced, results-oriented, hands-on leader, with the potential to advance within our organization. The role involves driving synergy between technological advancements and workplace performance.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will be responsible for coaching, educating, and motivating production supervisors and coordinating manufacturing activities for the production line. Key metrics include safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, and productivity.

When you join us, you will be:
  • Continuously improving productivity and quality of production processes
  • Leading the Production department, focusing on process and system improvements
  • Ensuring proper documentation and reporting (compliance, checklists, work orders, metrics, incident investigations, etc.)
  • Managing production budgets effectively
  • Collaborating with Maintenance on downtime and shutdown planning
  • Maintaining safety and environmental compliance awareness
  • Enhancing housekeeping for a safe working environment
  • Increasing employee engagement and labor relations through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Driving accountability among team members
  • Working with regulatory and internal departments as required
  • Collaborating with HR on personnel matters
  • Facilitating root cause analysis with cross-functional teams
  • Working with Maintenance to increase technical knowledge of the team
  • Planning and implementing preventative maintenance programs
  • Developing department goals aligned with company values
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 8+ years in progressive industrial production leadership, preferably in crushing, screening, or mining
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Some travel required (Canada and US)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Proactive with a proven track record of project leadership
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with process safety management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills
  • Ability to build morale, lead change, and improve team performance
  • Experience in a unionized environment
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and positive change
