General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada in Ottawa is seeking a Deputy Production Program Manager to lead a production team in an assembly/test environment, ensuring quality, schedule and budget objectives are met across Planning, Manufacturing and Test Engineering.

You will mentor and coach team members, coordinate with cross-functional groups, drive continuous improvement, and align resources to deliver high‑impact programs while upholding security and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in an electronics production or manufacturing environment, preferably involving military electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate activities in a fast-paced production environment while balancing quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Planning: Actively participates in the development of front-end operations to ensure resources, skills, and a solid manufacturing plan is in place.
• Execution: Lead to ensure quality, schedule, and costs are meeting budgets while balancing resources and priorities.
• Coaching: Provide training, mentoring and guidance to team members to build a strong, self-directed work team.
• Communication: Interface with Material, Production, Manufacturing Operations Management, Engineering, and program personnel to communicate requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and continuous improvement of department and company goals.
• Training: Determine, plan, and ensure personnel receive appropriate training to perform tasks.
• Other Related Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned.
