Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada is seeking Systems Engineering Analysts to support the Canadian Air team, contributing to mission-critical aerospace programs through design, analysis, and formal testing activities.

You will review requirements, document architectures, support root cause investigations, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with software and hardware teams to meet program objectives. A valid Canadian security clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience; 10+ years preferred.
  • Defence and Aerospace experience is highly desirable.
  • Requirements development and system design.
  • Requirements management tools.
  • Systems Engineering processes and tools.
  • Supporting System Integration and System Verification.
  • Technical writing.
  • Understanding of Software and Systems Engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conduct analysis leading to sound conclusions.
  • Enthusiastic contributor, willing to learn, and takes pride and ownership of work.

Responsibilities

  • Performing design, analysis and/or test activities in support of completing the project objectives.
  • Documenting analysis, designs and tests (e.g., architecture diagrams, tech notes, design documents, test plans and test reports).
  • Writing formal test cases and execute them to collect formal test results.
  • Preparing written test reports for submission to the end customer.
  • Investigating system problem reports and field incident reports; perform root cause and trend analyses.
  • Providing technical support during higher level integration and qualification testing.
  • Providing technical inputs to, and reviewing technical outputs from subcontractors.
  • Product and process improvements; identifying opportunities to improve products and services, and drive those changes.
  • Making presentations of work at design reviews or other types of peer review.
  • Providing support to the software team to ensure alignment to program requirements and operational performance expectations.
