We are on a growth journey and are looking for our next star – a passionate Production Engineer. This position reports to the Operations Engineering Manager and is based in Vancouver, BC.

Vancouver: Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

About The Position

As a Production Engineer, you will work as part of a production team, directly with production workers/operators, leaders, and supervisors. You will be the technical resource for resolving production issues that cause cells or lines to stop, slow down, or not meet targets. You will assist the team in achieving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost goals.

Responsibilities
  • Work with production staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues causing delays or stoppages.
  • Analyze root causes related to parts, assembly, process, or design problems.
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, and purchasing teams for problem resolution.
  • Resolve issues within your authority when possible.
  • Review performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Evaluate process and equipment effectiveness, seeking ways to eliminate labor and increase automation.
  • Support Standardized Work, 5S, and Preventative Maintenance initiatives.

Skills & Requirements

Ideal candidates will have success in operational, engineering, or manufacturing environments, with qualifications such as:

  • University or Institute qualifications in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, or Systems Engineering
  • 3-5 years’ experience in product design (preferred but not mandatory)

Key skills and characteristics include:

  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling & PLM software (Creo & Windchill preferred)
  • Experience with electronic CAD (Altium Designer preferred)
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, Ansys, FEMM, LT Spice
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with agile development processes
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Knowledge of brushless DC motors, sensors, batteries, and electronic instrumentation
