Job summary

Jobtailor in Toronto is seeking a Production Designer with 2–4 years of experience to create artwork, renderings, and production artwork for signage, environmental design, and wayfinding projects.

You will translate design intent into technical specifications, review files for quality, collaborate with the design lead, and support prototyping and documentation while managing multiple projects to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

2–4 years of production design experience required.
Experience in environmental design and/or wayfinding preferred.
Proficient with Mac OS and Microsoft Office suite.
Intermediate skills in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
Experience with CAD tools and 2D/3D renderings.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with stakeholders.
Experience with prototyping and material/structural selection is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare artwork, renderings, and design documentation while preserving design intent.

Maintain project schedules with studio team members and adjust as needed.

Job description

Prepare artwork, renderings, and design documentation while preserving design intent throughout projects
Create original Adobe Illustrator artwork for signage, fleet, and other physical assets
Collaborate with the design lead to accurately produce design intent
Review files for quality, accuracy, and precision before delivery
Support creation of sample and prototype documentation
Translate design intent into technical specifications for RFPs
Create detailed, to-scale design documents and understand shop drawings
Review shop drawings for specification and design-element accuracy
Review recommendation books for brand application
Prepare artwork and layouts as directed by the design lead
Create 2D and/or 3D renderings to visualize designs
Execute and deliver quality solutions in a timely manner
Maintain project schedules with studio team members and proactively adjust them
Gather production information and collaborate with studio team members
Interact professionally with clients and external stakeholders
Contribute to internal initiatives and process improvements

Requirements

2–4 years as a production designer
Experience in environmental and/or wayfinding preferred
Proficiency in Mac OS and Microsoft suite tools
Intermediate skills in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Experience creating photo renderings and production artwork including CAD tool dimensions
Exceptional attention to detail
Time management and organization skills required to meet deadlines
Comfortable working on and prioritizing multiple projects
Experience with prototyping and manufacturing
Experience with material and structural selection
Experience working with internal and external stakeholders an asset
Competency in 3D rendering software such as SketchUp, CAD, Adobe Dimensions, KeyShot, Rhino, or Revit is an asset
Experience in industrial or experience design is an asset
Experience with cloud-based file management systems and collaborative workflows
Proficient in leveraging AI tools to streamline and optimize workflows preferred
