Job summary

Markage seeks an Industrial Designer to join our Canadian team for an on-site role based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto. You will develop physical products and environments from concept through production, exploring form, function, materials, usability, and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with design directors, engineers, and external suppliers, using AI-assisted tools with careful review. A strong portfolio and practical design experience are required.

Qualifications

• Practical industrial-design experience demonstrated through a portfolio or completed projects.
• Working knowledge of 3D modeling, visualization, prototyping, or CAD tools.
• Understanding of materials, manufacturing considerations, form, function, and usability.
• Holds a valid Dex Professional Specialist Certification (DEX-PSP) in the Arts, Media & Creative Production domain.

Responsibilities

• Develop industrial-design concepts from briefs, user needs, and project constraints.
• Create sketches, 3D models, renderings, mockups, and prototypes to communicate ideas.
• Consider ergonomics, materials, finishes, assembly, manufacturing, durability, and practical use.
• Prepare presentations and documentation that explain design intent and key decisions.
• Refine concepts through feedback, testing, technical input, and production constraints.
• Coordinate with suppliers, engineers, fabricators, and production partners where required.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, dimensions, and handoff information appropriate to the project.
• Maintain organized models, files, references, material information, and versions.

Markage is looking for a Industrial Designer to join our Canadian team in an on-site role based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto.

This role focuses on developing physical products, objects, environments, and experiences from concept through production. You will explore form, function, materials, usability, manufacturing considerations, and visual expression. The work may include concept sketches, 3D models, prototypes, specifications, presentations, and collaboration with production partners.

You will work with design directors, 3D designers, graphic designers, strategists, producers, engineers, and external suppliers. Clear communication, reliable follow-through, and careful work are expected.

AI-assisted tools may be used for design research, reference gathering, concept documentation, visual exploration, and specification support. All AI-assisted work must be reviewed for accuracy, relevance, confidentiality, and fit before it is shared or used.

One in-house opening. This role may be based in Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto. These are alternative work locations for the same position, not separate vacancies.
