JOBDESCRIPTION :
Reporting to the management team, the IndustrialDesigner will be responsible for research, planning, and conceptdevelopment, in addition to preparing client presentations and supportingprototype development. The person will help transform client needs intoconcrete, manufacturable solutions aligned with cost, material, timeline, andproduction constraints.
TASKSAND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Analyze needs, constraints, and available informationin order to plan deliverables and design stages.
- Develop creative, functional, and manufacturing-readyconcepts, taking into account materials, finishes, costs, and projectobjectives.
- Prepare the 3D models, 2D drawings, renderings,sketches, presentations, and technical documents required for design,estimating, and manufacturing.
- Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internalteams to validate concepts, select appropriate solutions, and ensure technicalfeasibility.
- Coordinate prototype development, from initial designthrough validation, while monitoring timelines, materials, and modifications.
- Propose design improvements or alternative solutionsto optimize costs, materials, and manufacturing methods without compromisingproject objectives.
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams,resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain structured project documentation, trackrisks, changes, and impacts on costs and timelines, and contribute to thecontinuous improvement of design practices.
Profil
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Training in industrial design or a related field (DEPor DEC).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similarposition, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and intermediateknowledge of the Adobe Creative suite.
- Experience designing furniture, layouts, or customwood and/or metal products is an asset.
- Good understanding of design, manufacturing, andinstallation processes.
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken andwritten.
- Excellentcommunication and presentation skills.
- Creativity, a strong sense of innovation, and theability to develop concrete and manufacturable solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail,and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Autonomy, proactivity, and ability to work effectivelyin a dynamic environment.
