Job description

This position coordinates the production aspects of the Department of Theatre presentations and studio shows. Activities include providing logistical, technical, and creative support to Theatre courses, faculty, and students.

Education and Experience:

Minimum four years of recent (within the last 5 years) related experience in professional live performance production. Experience in an academic setting is desirable.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to direct and communicate with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage a budget.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of performance production, including stage management, technical direction, carpentry, properties, scenic painting, rigging, lighting, sound, automation, special effects, costumes, scenery construction, publicity, and projections.
  • Ability to interpret and summarize information accurately.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including tact, flexibility, and courtesy.
  • Calm and courteous demeanor when dealing with people.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Proficiency in computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and technical drawing tools such as Vectorworks, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite.
