Job summary

EQI Canada seeks a CNC Machine Operator to produce parts per drawings and specs. Day shift runs 6:50am-3:10pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime possible depending on business needs.

Responsibilities include loading parts, machining to spec, inspecting with gauges, and maintaining equipment. Minimum 1 year CNC milling experience preferred; high school diploma required; ERP experience asset.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of CNC Machinist experience with milling equipment.
  • Machinist Trade Certificate is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate milling machine and may operate turning equipment.
  • Load/unload parts onto machine table and machine to specifications.
  • Inspect parts with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Fill out inspection reports and ensure lubrication or cooling as needed.
  • Maintain machine tools and report malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Assist in continuous improvement activities related to machining.

Position Overview

The CNC Machine Operator role is responsible for producing parts in accordance with supplied drawings and specifications.

This is a day shift position, with regular hours from 6:50am-3:10pm Monday through Friday. Overtime may also be available subject to business requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform all machining tasks using milling machine, and may also operate turning equipment
  • Load and unload part onto machine table
  • Machine parts to specifications
  • Machine individual weldments - drilling and tapping holesand milling on parts
  • Verifies conformance of part to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as, scales, calipers, micrometers and fixed gauges
  • Fill out inspection reports asrequired
  • Check work pieces to ensure they are properly lubricated orcooled
  • Clean machined parts to ensure ready for assembly
  • Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition
  • Detect equipment malfunctions and report to supervisor
  • Participation in continuous improvement activities relatedto the machine and/or machining process
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience asCNC Machinist, using milling equipment in particular;
  • MachinistTrade Certificate an asset
  • ERP system experience an asset
  • Good working knowledge of tools,blueprints, and drawings
  • Set-up and programming arestrong assets, but not required
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs repetitively, comfortably and safely
  • Safety conscious individual
  • Ability to troubleshoot andproblem solve effectively andefficiently
  • Knowledge of production quality standards
  • Work experience in anISO Certified environment an asset
Compensation
  • $22-$28/hour
  • Participation in annual bonus program
