Job summary

EQI Canada is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to produce parts per drawings and specifications. This day shift role runs 6:50am-3:10pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime based on business needs.

Responsibilities include operating milling (and possibly turning) equipment, loading parts, machining to specs, inspection, and maintaining tools. Prior CNC milling experience and toolbox knowledge are valued assets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as CNC Machinist with milling emphasis.
• Machinist Trade Certificate is an asset.
• ERP system experience is an asset.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform milling and may operate turning equipment.
• Load and unload parts onto machine table.
• Machine parts to specifications.
• Machine weldments - drilling, tapping and milling flats.
• Verify conformance with measuring instruments (scales, calipers, micrometers, fixed gauges).
• Fill out inspection reports as required.
• Check lubrication and cooling of work pieces.
• Clean machined parts for assembly readiness.
• Maintain machine tools in good condition.
• Detect equipment malfunctions and report to supervisor.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities related to machining.

Position Overview

The CNC Machine Operator role is responsible for producingparts in accordance with supplied drawings and specifications.

This is a day shift position, with regular hours from 6:50am-3:10pm Monday through Friday. Overtime may also be available subject to business requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all machining tasks using milling machine, and may also operate turning equipment
• Load and unload part onto machine table
• Machine parts to specifications
• Machine individual weldments - drilling and tapping holesand milling on parts
• Verifies conformance of part to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as, scales, calipers, micrometers and fixed gauges
• Fill out inspection reports asrequired
• Check work pieces to ensure they are properly lubricated orcooled
• Clean machined parts to ensure ready for assembly
• Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition
• Detect equipment malfunctions and report to supervisorParticipation in continuous improvement activities relatedto the machine and/or machining process
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of experience asCNC Machinist, using milling equipment in particular;
• MachinistTrade Certificate an asset
• ERP system experience an asset
• Good working knowledge of tools,blueprints, and drawings
• Set-up and programming arestrong assets, but not required
• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs repetitively, comfortably and safely
• Safety conscious individual
• Ability to troubleshoot andproblem solve effectively andefficiently
• Knowledge of production quality standards
• Work experience in anISO Certified environment an asset

Compensation

• $22-$27/hour
