Job summary

Standard Manufacturers Services Ltd. in Canada is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to safely run CNC lathes and milling machines, inspect finished parts, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

You will read engineering drawings, maintain tooling and measuring equipment, and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives while supporting a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years machining experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Post-secondary education in machining is considered an asset.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Verify finished parts meet dimensional specifications.
• Identify and report non-conforming parts.
• Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Ensure machine centers, tooling, fixtures, and precision measuring equipment are maintained and in proper working condition.
• Fit and assemble machined metal components and subassemblies using hand and power tools as required.
• Accurately complete work package documentation to ensure product traceability.
• Perform routine daily inspections, care, and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean Manufacturing program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC lathes and milling machines.

Available Shifts

Monday to Thursday

• Four 10-hour shifts.
• Day and Evening shifts available.

Weekend Shift

• Friday to Sunday.
• Three 12-hour shifts.

Employment Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years machining experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary education in machining or a related trade is considered an asset.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
