Production Administrator or Project Coordinator (Telecom)

Operations - Telecom Full Time Oak Bluff, MB $23.50 - $37 CAD per hour

Tri-Core Projects Ltd. is a Manitoba-based, full-service civil and environmental construction company that has been proudly operating since 2003. Our operations include demolition, site preparation, excavation, underground service installation, remediation services, telecom, and special projects.

We are currently looking for a Production Administrator or Project Coordinator to join our Telecom Division. This position plays an important role in supporting telecommunications construction projects by connecting field operations, project management, estimating, and accounting.

Job Description

Reporting to the Division Manager, this role supports the day-to-day administration of telecommunications construction projects. The role is responsible for coordinating production reporting, maintaining project documentation, tracking completed quantities, and assisting with estimating and billing activities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with both field and office teams, and interested in developing their knowledge of construction and telecommunications operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain accurate production tracking spreadsheets, databases, and client tracking systems, including Vitruvi and Field Ops.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly production reports for Project Managers.
  • Track completed construction quantities, including fibre optic cable, conduit, directional drilling, plowing, vault installations, splicing activities, and restoration.
  • Assist with monthly progress billings and verify completed work against contractual pay items.
  • Create and maintain project files, drawing revisions, and as-built records.
  • Assist with and carry out the in-field Buried Drop Order (BDO) process.
  • Track permits, locates, Safety Watch bookings, lane closures, inspections, and project close-out documentation.
  • Support estimating by entering estimate information, gathering preliminary project details, organizing subcontractor and supplier pricing, and assisting with quantity take-offs and bid documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with field employees and participate in required company and third-party training.
  • Complete required safety documentation and follow Tri-Core's safety, quality, and workplace requirements.
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project administration, loss prevention, production tracking, or a similar role.
  • Experience supporting Project Managers, Supervisors, and/or field crews.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with ERP, project management, construction management, or field production systems is an asset.
  • Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contractual documents.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both field and office employees.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel and work longer days when project requirements dictate.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver's licence.
Assets

Previous experience in the telecommunications industry is considered an asset, particularly knowledge or experience with:

  • Directional drilling
  • Utility locating

This position combines office-based administrative work with occasional field/site activities. The successful candidate should be comfortable interacting with field crews, supervisors, project management, clients, and the public and working around active construction environments when required.
