Job summary

TechConnect Corp. in Alberta is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to drive telecommunications infrastructure deployments across Western Canada, including fibre, DAS, 5G and private LTE networks.

You will oversee project planning, execution, budget control and safety, coordinating internal resources, field technicians, suppliers and customers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Telecommunications Project Management.
  • Strong understanding of telecom construction.
  • Experience managing fibre/OFD constructions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple telecom infrastructure projects simultaneously.
  • Develop detailed project schedules and work plans.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, logistics and field construction.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting and profitability.
  • Track milestones and deliverables.

We specialize in fiber optic construction, rural broadband, distributed antenna systems (DAS), private LTE/5G, structured cabling, and wireless network deployments for carriers, municipalities, utilities, enterprise, and industrial customers.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading multiple technical projects from planning through successful completion.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Technical Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, financial performance, and successful delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects throughout Alberta and Western Canada.

The successful candidate will coordinate internal resources, field technicians, subcontractors, suppliers, engineering teams, and customers while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Projects may include:

  • MDU/MXU Fibre-to-the-Premise deployments
  • Fibre optic splicing and backbone construction
  • Rural Broadband Network Builds
  • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
  • Structured Cabling Systems
  • Point-to-Point Wireless Networks
  • Point-to-Multipoint Wireless Networks
  • Private LTE Networks
  • Private 5G Deployments
  • Enterprise Network Infrastructure
  • Municipal and Utility Communications Networks
Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple telecommunications infrastructure projects simultaneously
  • Develop detailed project schedules and work plans
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, logistics and field construction
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting and profitability
  • Track project milestones and deliverables
  • Lead kickoff meetings and project status meetings
  • Manage customer communications and reporting
  • Coordinate permitting, site access and construction schedules
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and quality
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and customer standards
  • Manage project documentation and close‑out packages
  • Support estimating and pre‑sales technical reviews when required
  • Drive continuous process improvement across project delivery
Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years of Telecommunications Project Management experience
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications construction methodologies
  • Experience managing fibre optic construction and splicing projects
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent technical projects
  • Excellent customer communication skills
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
  • Very Strong English – Verbal and Written
