• Experience in laboratory work related to lighting product testing.
• Direct experience with cULus or CE certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead tests for certifications and quality requirements.

Job description

Product test and certification technician

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of tests used to obtain certifications and performance and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with the Product Development team in the search for technical solutions; share experience and knowledge of design requirements related to certifications.
• Assemble luminaires according to the needs of development projects, operate test equipment (sphere, goniometer, UL equipment, etc.), record and communicate results.
• Participate in keeping a fleet of equipment up to date (calibrations and maintenance).
• Maintain the laboratory at a high level of safety, cleanliness and efficiency, using recognised management tools such as 5S.
• Lead/participate in the development of certification and performance test plans as required.
• Any other related tasks.

Education + Experience Required

• College degree in Electrical Engineering (relevant field), Engineering Physics or other similar programs.
• Relevant experience in laboratory work.

Qualifications + Skills Required

• Direct experience in testing lighting products to obtain cULus or CE certification or for photometric validation an asset
• Knowledge of lighting fixture standards an asset
• Knowledge of Lumenpulse products an asset
• Sense of responsibility and autonomy
• Ability to manage changes quickly
• Good organisational skills
• Good listening and communication skills
• Bilingualism essential (spoken and written French and English)
• Sense of innovation
