Job Description:

Reporting to the Quebec Regional Business Manager (RBM), the Product Specialist Representative (PSR) will support the launch of Idorsia’s new product (Quviviq) across Canada in the insomnia market. Within their assigned territory, the PSR will be responsible for increasing understanding of the product and its data in helping patients with insomnia by engaging with GP/FM and specialists (primarily psychiatry). This role will oversee project-related matters and build external relationships with recognized experts, KOLs, HCPs, and prioritized stakeholders in the therapeutic area. The individual will develop deep product and competitor knowledge and understand local and regional market trends. They will assist and coordinate activities with physicians and other HCPs through the drug initiation process, product training, patient support programs, and follow-up, where applicable. Collaboration with peers in sales, brand, and support teams is essential to deliver an excellent customer experience.

Success in this role requires a proactive individual who owns the business, identifies opportunities, and creates innovative solutions; advocates for insomnia patients and local business needs. The candidate should have a positive mindset, overcome barriers, and be a strong team player who elevates the entire team. Being an early adopter of tools and technology, they should tailor the right tools to the right targets, with appropriate messaging at the right time.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop an integrated, effective cross-functional territory business plan to achieve and exceed annual goals.
  2. Leverage systems and omni-channel options to personalize engagement and ensure excellent customer experience, both face-to-face and virtual.
  3. Build strong customer relationships and create value by understanding the patient journey and customer needs.
  4. Advocate for insomnia patients within the organization and communicate priorities and solutions effectively.
  5. Serve as a resource regarding access to insomnia therapy, product information, and guidelines.
  6. Coordinate learning activities based on HCP needs and ensure follow-up for feedback.
  7. Promote the portfolio ethically within approved labeling, adhering to legal and regulatory guidelines.
  8. Accurately and timely communicate territory activity as directed by management.
  9. Provide feedback and collaborate with colleagues and leadership on environment and results.
  10. Complete all required training classes successfully.
  11. Manage efforts within the promotional budget.
  12. Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
  13. Engage effectively in virtual and live customer engagements.
  14. Travel as needed, with minimal overnight stays.
  15. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; preferred in Science or Business.
  • Ability to understand the patient and HCP adoption journeys.
  • Minimum 2+ years of life science sales experience.
  • Experience in psych/CNS/Sleep Disorders is an asset.
  • Experience in sales/education discussions with specialists preferred.
  • Recent product launch experience is preferred.
  • Proven sales success record.
  • Strong digital marketing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Results-driven with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with omni-channel tools to influence HCP perceptions.
  • Willingness to travel locally and nationally.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to perform all responsibilities of the role.
