Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a Product Manager to oversee a portfolio including Optional Life and Critical Illness in Toronto. You will collaborate with Customer Experience, Finance, Data and Operations to implement strategies and support new offerings.

Reporting to the Product Director of Optional Benefits, you will lead cross-functional projects, conduct market research, and maintain governance documentation to drive product excellence within Group Benefits. This role is hybrid in Canada.

Qualificações

  • 5+ years of project or product management experience with cross-functional teams.
  • University degree.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to leverage data, customer insights and market intelligence to inform product strategy.
  • Ability to clearly convey business priorities, project status, and translate complex products into clear value propositions.
  • High level of self-motivation and ownership of project deliverables.

Responsabilidades

  • Product Launch: Participate and support the development and launch of new product features and services, as well as enhancements to existing offerings.
  • Special Projects: Lead cross-functional core teams in product development initiatives, ensuring projects are implemented according to plan and that any issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
  • Market Research: Evaluate industry trends and market research to help influence major product development decisions.
  • Relationship Management: Support relationships with external vendors, and key business partners, while ensuring needs are aligned to business objectives.
  • Product Governance: Maintain documentation to support operational execution, risk assessment and product management.
  • Influencing and Communications: Assist and participate in presentations to various stakeholders and audiences as necessary.
  • Product Excellence: Serve as a subject matter expert on portfolio of products with cross-functional teams throughout Group Benefits.
  • Represent product in various workgroups to ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Collaborate across Business Units (BUs) to align strategies with Group Benefits business practices, sponsor expectations and Canada segment goals.
  • Be the first point of contact for all questions and support sales/distribution on any product inquiries.

The Product Manager will be responsible for supporting the management of a portfolio of products, including Optional Life and Critical Illness. Working in close collaboration with teams such as Customer Experience, Finance, Data and Operations, the Product Manager will implement new strategies to enhance the existing portfolio and support the implementation of new offerings. Reporting directly to the Product Director of Optional Benefits, your role is critical in managing a key portfolio in the Group Benefits space.

Position Responsibilities
  • Product Launch: Participate and support the development and launch of new product features and services, as well as act as enhancements to existing offerings

Required Qualifications

  • University degree
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to leverage data, customer insights and market intelligence to inform product strategy
  • Ability to clearly convey business priorities, project status, and to translate complex products into clear, compelling, value propositions
  • High level of self-motivation and keen sense of owning and delivering on project deliverables
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in consulting or a start-up environment
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and solve problems creatively in a highly matrixed and regulated environment
  • Willingness to travel as required

Referenced Salary

Location Toronto, Ontario

Working Arrangement Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between $92,900.00 CAD - $142,900.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
