Manulife is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to deliver timely financial reports for a portfolio of investments. You will manage NAV, valuation, cash flow projections, and fund administration, while supporting audits and process improvements across multiple teams.

The role requires 2–3 years in accounting/finance within private equity, funds, or real estate, plus a degree in accounting or finance. Hybrid work and market-competitive CAD salary are offered.

Qualifications

Undergraduate/Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA designation is a plus.
2–3 years of accounting/finance experience in private equity, funds or real estate.
Private Equity Fund administration experience is a plus.
Competencies in accounting standards, finance, audit and reporting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review daily, monthly & quarterly Fund Administration deliverables.
Prepare and aid in review of the NAV, Valuation and TA process (Ownership, Capital Queue, Capital Calls and Distributions).
Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting oversight including financial statements and variance analysis.
Reconcile issues between the Administrator and Internal Book of Record.
Create and monitor cash flow projections and distributions.
Provide internal & external audit support with information gathering.
Assist in accounting of acquisitions/dispositions and due diligence.
Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and delivery.
Contribute to process improvements and special projects for best-in-class service.
Prepare and review accounting working papers for auditors and follow-ups.

Job description

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports for a portfolio of investments. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing fund administration deliverables, managing NAV, valuation, and transaction processes, and overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting activities. The role involves reconciling discrepancies between internal and external records, creating cash flow projections, and supporting audit processes. Additionally, the analyst identifies opportunities for process improvements, participates in special projects, and collaborates effectively with multiple teams.

Position Responsibilities

Prepare and review daily, monthly & quarterly Fund Administration deliverables.
Prepare and aid in review of the NAV, Valuation and TA process (Ownership, Capital Queue, Capital Calls and Distributions).
Preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting oversight including financial statements according to accounting standards and conducts, comprehensive business focus variance analysis, and commentaries regarding variance analysis.
Responsible for reconciliation and escalation of issues arising between the Administrator and Internal Book of Record.
Create and monitor cash flow projections, prepare cash call and distribution instructions.
Provide internal & external audit support including gathering and collecting financial related information.
Assist in the accounting of acquisitions and dispositions and participate in the due diligence, as required.
Proactively find opportunities for improving quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of team deliveries.
Actively contribute to improving processes and participate in special projects for the ongoing advancement of best-in-class capabilities and service excellence.
Prepare and review financial accounting working papers to ensure effective accounting including follow-ups and resolutions as required for best-in-class service and for both internal and external auditors.

Preferred Qualifications

Undergraduate/Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Partial/Completion of Professional accounting designation (CPA) is a plus.
2–3 years of accounting/finance experience (preferably in private equity, funds, or real estate).
Private Equity Fund administration experience is a plus.
Competencies and experience in some of the following: accounting standards, finance, audit, management, and design, implementation, and presentation of advanced financial and business focused reporting.
Excellent communication, including strong written and verbal communication.
Investran, Workiva, and Yardi experience is an asset.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Effective time management skills; works well under pressure to meet tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities; ability to prioritize workload; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range is expected to be between $73,725.00 CAD - $122,875.00 CAD.

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
