Job summary

S&C Electric Canada Ltd. is seeking a Product Engineering Support co-op for Winter 2027 in Toronto. You will assist in product engineering, gain hands-on experience in design, testing, and project management within a safety-focused environment.

The role targets 3rd/4th year Mechanical or Mechatronics students, with opportunities to work on multiple products and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams. The term runs Jan. 2027 through Aug. 2027 onsite.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th year Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering student with a strong interest in power systems engineering.
• Able to work for an 8 month Co-op Work Term starting Winter 2027 (Jan. 2027 - Aug. 2027).
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• A team player who can work independently under supervision.
• Structured problem-solving experience and exposure to Lean principles.
• Quick learner.
• Experience using 3D modelling tools such as Solid Edge is a strong asset.
• Experience with product development testing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design revisions using Solid Edge 3D CAD software.
• Support Development Team projects; exposure to mechanics, electronics, high power electrical, software and systems engineering.
• Investigate product designs to meet customer requirements.
• Assist with product testing (mechanical, electrical, software).
• Responsible for managing short-duration projects from initial concept to prototyping to implementation.
