Job summary

S&C Electric Canada is seeking a co-op Electrical Engineering Design Support student for Winter 2027. This role focuses on MES design software, wiring diagrams, and engineering support in a hybrid setting with on-site and remote days.

You will gain hands-on experience in a safety-conscious environment, collaborating with the engineering team to deliver quality drawings and software improvements. Strong Windows software skills and programming are essential.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Enrolled for a 4 month co-op term starting Winter 2027 (Jan.–Apr.).
• Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The hourly pay range for this position is $22.70 - $36.40. Individual pay within this range is determined by several compensable factors, including the year of study, type of academic program, and the number of prior co-op work terms completed.

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Currently pursing a post-secondary degree program in an Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Enrolled and eligible for a 4 month co-op term starting in Winter 2027 (Jan. - Apr.).
• Self-starter with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Fast learner with an aptitude for learning other company-specific software.
• Proficient with Microsoft software, specifically Excel, Word and MS Project.
• Programming skills with Visual Basic or C++; required.
• Knowledge of other software languages would be an asset.

Physical Effort

Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.

Work Environment

Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
