Job summary

S&C Electric Canada is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Assistant Co-op for Winter 2027. You will support time studies, process improvements, 5S activities, and Kaizen initiatives in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering and must be eligible for a 4-month co-op starting Jan 2027. Onsite work in Canada, with competitive compensation and growth opportunities.

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Work Term: Winter 2027 (Jan. - Apr.)

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The hourly pay range for this position is $22.70 - $36.40. Individual pay within this range is determined by several compensable factors, including the year of study, type of academic program, and the number of prior co-op work terms completed.

Join Our Team as a Lean Manufacturing Assistant (Co-op)!

• Conduct time studies.
• Analyze current processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Understand and help with the standard work method development.
• Support in the 5S blitzes and prepare documents.
• Support in the Kaizen activities and standard work
• Contribute to the culture of Continuous Improvement.
• Support identifying wastes and implementing process improvements.
• Implement improvement actions by supporting the change in the teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Pursuing a Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering Diploma/Degree or related field in a post-secondary institution.
• Is registered and eligible for a 4 month co-op starting in the Winter 2027 (Jan. - Apr.) work term.
• Has strong mechanical/mathematical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Is detail-oriented.
• Has good communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced work environment with minimal supervision.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Physical Effort

Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day‑to‑day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.

Work Environment

Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
