Job summary

Esri Canada is seeking a software test engineer to design and implement automated tests for the performance, durability, scalability and reliability of directions and routing services on AWS. You will create tools to automate load-test environments and analyze test runs for anomalies.

You will work with product engineers to describe issues, ensure reproducible environments, and verify fixes. You will orchestrate performance tests with Jenkins pipelines and build dashboards to communicate results

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Experience in Apache JMeter, Python, Jenkins, and AWS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Design and implement automated tests for performance, durability, scalability, and reliability of the directions and routing services running on AWS cloud platform
  • Create tools and scripts to automate the provisioning of load test environments for routing services in the AWS cloud. Analyze test runs for performance anomalies
  • Work with product engineers and development programmers to clearly describe identified anomalies, communicate repeatable steps, provide a reproducible environment, and verify fixes
  • Orchestrate running performance tests using Jenkins pipelines
  • Create and maintain dashboards to effectively communicate test results to software development and product management teams
  • Provide guidance about capacity planning and optimal system provisioning to customers who choose to deploy these web services in their own infrastructure
Requirements
  • One (1) year of experience in the job offered, or one (1) year of experience in a related occupation
  • Must demonstrate experience in Apache JMeter, Python, Jenkins, and Amazon Web Services
  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Information Technology, or a related field
