Job summary

OSI Maritime Systems Ltd. is seeking a Technical Product Coordinator to support product lifecycle data entry and maintenance. You will collaborate with Hardware, Production and Purchasing to ensure data integrity in the PDX database and coordinate change requests during development and qualification testing.

The role requires attention to detail, experience with PLM tools and some exposure to engineering workflows. This is a full-time, on-site position in Burnaby, BC, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and accurate data entry throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools and PLM systems.
  • Exposure to hardware product development within engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Metadata input for Hardware Products and data source verification with engineers.
  • Raising and managing Engineering Change Requests to maintain configuration control.
  • Coordinate departmental JIRA logging and provide technical support for design, prototyping and testing.
  • Review and release parts and documents in the PDX database as a reviewer.
  • Apply judgment to handle part documentation issues in PDX with care.
  • Ensure adherence to established product/component selection processes.
  • Address exceptions to procedures to mitigate contractual and financial risks.

The Technical Product Coordinator will perform product and component data entry and maintenance as required by the Product Lifecycle Management processes, coordinate departmental tasks and provide technical support as required during the product development, integration and qualification test activities.

The Technical Product Coordinator will collaborate with other departments, including Hardware Engineering, Production and Purchasing, to ensure data integrity of OSI’s product data base, PDX.

What You'll Do
  • Metadata input for Hardware Products, this may involve consulting with engineers to find the appropriate source of data;
  • Raising, and managing Engineering Change Requests and Notices to maintain strict Configuration Management on engineering products;
  • Coordinate the departmental JIRA issue logging for external support requests and provide technical support for Product Design, Prototyping and Testing.
  • Carries out authority as a reviewer on the revision and release of parts and documents in the PDX database.
  • Applies judgment and makes decisions on the best way to handle any part or part documentation issues in PDX.
  • Ensures established processes are followed in the product/component selection process.
  • Timely, prudent judgment must be exercised to address unusual exceptions to the established procedures in order to prevent potentially unlimited contractual, legal and financial risks to the corporation. The ability to properly refer matters to other experts when required is critical.
  • Expected to understand the Company’s objectives and limitations.

  • Some exposure to issue monitoring applications (JIRA or similar) and PLM applications (PDX or similar);
  • Some experience with hardware product development and interest to work as part of an engineering team;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Good MS Office proficiency, especially Excel and Word;
